The unique blue Reset key is what makes SecureKey Technology different from other re-keyable systems. This reset Key allows the user to securely put the cylinder into re-keying mode, and quickly reset the cylinder to match a new or existing Schlage key using a new blue Reset key.
SecureKey Technology provides superior security
SecureKey cylinders meet Grade 1 guidelines for bump and pick resistance, in accordance with UL 437, section 11.6 standards. Schlage provides the highest security available for the home and superior strength for greater peace of mind.
SecureKey Technology works with a blue Reset Key and brass User Keys. The blue Reset Key is used to re-key the locks when needed, and the brass user keys are used every day to lock and unlock the door.

Only your blue Reset Key can be used to re-key your lock.
Brass User Keys will NOT re-key the lock.
If you want to match an existing key, you will need to visit your local hardware store to have a blue Reset Key cut to match your existing key. If you want to re-key your new lock to a new key, you will need to visit your local hardware store to purchase a set of new keys (one blue Reset Key with matching brass User Keys).
